Proposed One Way Streets for Upper Beech and Upper Palmer Avenues

At last evenings meeting ( February 14, 2017) Council

decided not to pursue designating

One Way streets on the upper Beech and Upper Palmer Avenue areas.

 

Sidewalks

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SIDEWALK IN FRONT OF MY HOME OR BUSINESS?

Under SECTION 1020 of Ordinance 358:- All property owners shall provide and keep in a safe condition sidewalks across the frontal portion, facing Avenue or Street, or in case of a corner lot both frontal sides that face the Avenue or Street, of the property that they own in Patton Borough at all times. The property owner shall be responsible for keeping these sidewalks free from hazards, obstacles, snow and ice, and any other condition that may represent a hazard to pedestrian traffic.

– Please keep your sidewalk in good repair for the safety of children walking to and from school, your letter carrier and all others who would use your sidewalk.

-All sidewalks are to also be cleared of snow and ice during the winter season.  Snow is prohibited from being shoveled or otherwise thrown onto a street.

-Sidewalks also should not be blocked or otherwise obstructed preventing a safe walkway for pedestrians.
